Denmark has blocked 98 gambling websites after a court gave regulators the green light to cut off access. The list includes Polymarket, the US-based prediction market platform.
This is not the first time Polymarket has faced restrictions in Europe. It has now been blocked in another European market.
The order came from the Frederiksberg court on July 8, 2026. It lets the Danish Gambling Authority tell internet providers to restrict access to the named domains.
This latest round brings the total number of websites blocked by Danish authorities since 2012 up to 870.
How the Blocking Process Works
Denmark does not rush to block every website suspected of breaking its gambling rules. The process moves in steps.
First, the Gambling Authority contacts the operator directly. It asks the site to stop serving customers in Denmark.
If the operator ignores the request or refuses to comply, the regulator has to bring the case to court. Only after a judge approves can the technical block go into effect.
