India’s Supreme Court has stepped into a dispute over Delta Corp’s casino license. The court issued formal notices to the Union Territory Administration of Daman and Diu.
The case centers on Delta Corp’s request to operate slot machines and electronic amusement games. The location is its hotel called The Deltin in Daman.
The company took the matter to the Supreme Court after the Bombay High Court dismissed its licensing request. That dismissal came in April 2026.
The Supreme Court has scheduled its next hearing for October 1. This date has not been independently confirmed by outside sources.
Delta Corp has spent more than ₹450 crore building The Deltin. The company says it made this investment based on early assurances from local authorities, including a 2007 letter.
The dispute involves a 1992 legal amendment. It allowed slot machines under the Goa, Daman and Diu Public Gambling Act, and Delta Corp argues this amendment applies to Daman.
