TLDR Mike Matusow claimed Ike Haxton won $32 million at Triton but actually lost $8 million. Triton’s own records and MTTDB list Haxton’s real winnings near $23 million, not $32 million. A study called the Triton Files shows Haxton down $7.72 million once every buy-in is counted. That number reflects staking deals and buy-in costs, not money Haxton personally lost. Haxton has $65.3 million in career live cashes and ranks seventh on poker’s all-time money list.
Poker pro Mike Matusow has spent over a year saying that high-roller poker earnings are misleading. In late August, he took his argument further by naming a specific player.
Matusow posted on X that Ike Haxton was listed as a $32 million winner at the Triton Poker Series. He claimed Haxton had actually lost around $8 million once real costs were factored in.
Total joke that @Sdavies22 calls me out that I know nothing about the high roller poker scene when I called it fake! Well my question to him is If Ike Haxton who I really like and is a great player is listed as winning 32 m winner at Triton but actually lost 7.5 m which is a 40…

He repeated the claim in direct messages to Gambling Insider on September 2. Matusow called the gap between the two numbers proof that poker earnings are fake.
The Loss Figure Is Real
Matusow’s $32 million figure does not match Triton’s own records. Both Triton’s player page and the tracking site MTTDB list Haxton’s total winnings closer to $23 million.
The loss number is a different story. In late June, MTTDB published a report called the Triton Files. It adjusted a decade of Triton results to account for buy-ins.
