Ukraine’s gambling regulator PlayCity announced a new partnership with YouTube aimed at speeding up the removal of illegal gambling advertisements on the platform.

The agency confirmed the deal through its official Telegram channel. Officials said the cooperation would allow for faster detection of rule-breaking content and quicker takedowns.

“We have begun collaborating with the YouTube platform to respond more quickly and block illegal gambling advertising,” PlayCity stated.

The partnership links PlayCity’s monitoring tools with YouTube’s own content moderation systems. This connection is designed to reduce the gap between spotting a violation and getting it removed.

Early Results From the YouTube Partnership

PlayCity says the collaboration is already showing results. The agency confirmed that one YouTube channel with more than 3,000 subscribers was shut down after it posted gambling advertisements.

A separate video promoting an illegal casino was also taken down. That video appeared on a channel with over 133,000 subscribers.

Officials said the aim is to tighten control over gambling content on the platform. They also want to shorten response times when violations are found.

PlayCity is not relying on content removal alone. The regulator continues to hand out fines for breaches of Ukraine’s advertising laws.
