VGW Confirms LuckyLand Slots Closure Date for September 2026

TLDR VGW will permanently close LuckyLand Slots by September 14, 2026. Gold Coin purchases stop on August 3, and games stop running on August 24. Sweeps Coin redemptions will close entirely on September 14. Chumba Casino, LuckyLand Casino, and Global Poker will all keep operating. The closure comes weeks after founder Laurence Escalante resigned as CEO on July 3.

VGW has confirmed that it will shut down LuckyLand Slots for good this September. The company shared the news with players in a Tuesday announcement.

The shutdown will happen in stages rather than all at once. VGW has laid out specific dates for each step of the process.

The first change comes on August 3, 2026. Players will no longer be able to buy Gold Coins after that date.

However, any Gold Coins or Sweeps Coins already in a player’s account will still work. Those balances won’t disappear right away.

The next date is August 24. On that day, the games themselves will stop running entirely.

Sweeps Coins can still be redeemed for prizes even after the games shut off. That window won’t last forever, though.

September 14 marks the final cutoff. Redemption requests will close, and access to LuckyLand Slots will end completely.

In its announcement, VGW thanked players for being part of what it called an “incredible journey.” The message made clear that this closure applies only to LuckyLand Slots.

What Happens to Other VGW Brands

VGW’s other platforms will keep running as normal. This includes Chumba Casino and Global Poker.

LuckyLand Casino, which launched in November last year, will also stay active. It appears to be positioned as the replacement for LuckyLand Slots going forward.
