The Hong Kong-listed company supplies electronic gaming equipment in Macau. It also serves land-based casinos across Asia and runs a smart vending machine business.
Revenue for the six months ended June 30 rose 47.3% year-on-year. It reached nearly HKD33.9 million.
The company had already forecast a profit between HKD2.2 million and HKD2.4 million. It pointed to stronger demand for electronic gaming equipment as the reason.
Gross Profit Climbs, Margin Slips
Gross profit increased to HKD15.9 million from HKD10.9 million a year earlier. The gain came even as gross profit margin eased to 46.9% from 47.5%.
Operating expenses for the first half rose 9.8% year-on-year to about HKD12.1 million. The company said higher staff costs and travel expenses drove the increase.
The electronic gaming machine business remained the main growth driver. Combined revenue from technical sales and distribution reached roughly HKD33.0 million, up from about HKD22.0 million a year earlier.
Segment profit for that business jumped to HKD5.4 million from HKD2.2 million. Revenue from technical sales and distribution alone rose 56.2% to HKD30.1 million.
