That figure was down 1.2% compared to August of last year. It marked a yearly decline even as other measures of the market showed strength.
The monthly picture told a different story. Revenue climbed 8.1% from July, when casinos brought in MOP20.26 billion.
Despite the monthly gain, August’s total still fell short of the same month in 2025. The regulator released the data on Tuesday, covering both the single month and the year to date total.
Year To Date Revenue Stays Positive
Macau’s aggregate casino GGR for the first eight months of 2026 reached MOP169.05 billion. That number sits 3.7% above the total recorded during the same period in 2025.
This means the market is still ahead for the year, even with a weaker August compared to last year. The combination of a monthly rebound and a yearly dip left analysts with a mixed set of figures to interpret.
