TLDR Cambodia’s casino regulator is considering an online payment system to improve gambling duty collection. The plan was discussed Monday at a meeting with regulators and taxation officials. The proposed system would manage both gambling duties and the regulator’s own revenues. The government also plans to tighten oversight of gaming businesses and review licensing standards. Officials reviewed a draft law on illegal gambling with the Ministry of Economy and Finance on October 14.
Cambodia’s casino regulator is looking at an online payment system to improve how it collects gambling duties. The plan was discussed at a conference held on Monday.

According to a CGMC update issued the same day, the talks covered a new information technology system. The system would help manage gambling duty collections and the regulator’s own revenues.
How the Proposed Payment System Would Work
The online payment system was a main focus of the meeting. CGMC said the goal is to make revenue management more efficient.

Taxation officials joined the talks alongside the regulator. This placed tax collection next to the regulator’s duties in overseeing the gambling sector.
Wider Push for Tighter Gambling Oversight
The revenue plan comes as Cambodian authorities move to watch the gaming industry more closely. The government has said it plans to tighten oversight of gaming businesses.
It has also said it will review the standards
