In March, BetMGM opened former Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love at 30-1 to be the third pick, ESPN reported. Two days before the draft, his odds were around 2-1.
DraftKings said more bets and more money were placed on Love going No. 3 than on any other player. The Cardinals then selected Love third overall.
NFL Findings and Gold’s Denial
On July 17, the NFL said Gold, in his 13th season with the team, shared confidential information about Arizona’s draft picks before they were announced. The league also said he bet parlays on NFL and college games.
The NFL said there was no reason to believe any game was affected. It added that the Cardinals cooperated fully and that no other team member appeared to be involved.
Gold’s attorney, Mike Caspino, filed the appeal in July. He said Gold could not have leaked the picks because only owner Michael Bidwill and general manager Monti Ossenfort knew them.
