Brazil’s regulated betting market collected more than R$1.15 billion in federal tax revenue during the first quarter of 2026. The figures were obtained through Brazil’s Access to Information Law by Pay4Fun, a payment company operating in the betting sector.
The total federal revenue from the broader gaming industry reached R$4.17 billion during the same period. The betting sector made up a large portion of that total.
The data covers the months of January through March. It marks one of the first full quarters of tax collection since Brazil’s betting regulation framework took full effect.
January brought in R$368 million from betting operators. February saw the highest monthly total at R$443 million.
March closed out the quarter at R$338 million. The three months combined kept the industry on a billion-real pace.
The consistency of the monthly figures suggests the betting market is not driven by seasonal spikes. Tax revenue remained steady across the quarter.
New licensed operators continue to enter the legal market. Their participation is expected to keep income tax collection from sports betting and online gaming at high levels through the rest of the year.
